From Combi to Heat Pump: How Heatboost Made the Switch Seamless

Overview

Mark, an installer of renewable energy solutions based in Barnsley, faced a heating issue in his own home. His main room was struggling to warm, despite having two K2 radiators in the space and his combi boiler running constantly.

He’s also considered changing to a low heating source, such as a heat pump. However, the radiators in his house are on 10mm microbore, which may cause a problem if he decided to make the change.

Pipework is typically the culprit. Traditional heat sources relied on 10-15mm microbore pipework to deliver warm water to heating outlets. Heat pumps have a much higher flow rate, typically meaning that the existing pipework needs to be swapped with larger diameter piping to be effective – a costly and disruptive replacement job.
