LXP12000 Hybrid

(Parallel)

""

A powerful single-unit solution, the LuxPower 12000 Hybrid brings solar inversion and battery storage combined for a powerful controller device.

Able to handle a charge and discharge rate of 12kW, the unit also has a separate input for a generator, improving flexibility. As the 12000 Hybrid has a charge/discharge rate of 250A, this is above the capacity of a standard battery. As a result, a combiner box is required to ensure the amperage is safe.

Without the use of a combiner box, it is possible to install one to eight Hanchu batteries, however, it must be reduced to 100A on the Lux controller to ensure there isn’t any overload. Fully monitorable on the LuxPower Monitoring app, this allows users background performance insights and technical support.

Working with Hanchu Combiner Boxes

The Lux Hybrid 12kw Parallel unit is a single phase inverter. The maximum PV input is 18kw.

When using the Luxpower 7kW or 12kW Hybrid inverters, the current (amps) demand is too large for the batteries. Therefore a combiner box allows the batteries to be used as the combiner will add the amps of the batteries together and deliver the higher power through a single larger cable. When using and installing a combiner box, ensure you have all the relevant instructions and wiring schematics to correctly set up to the correct rate of charge and discharge.

Parallel units: What does this mean?

A parallel unit is a unit which can be used as a single stand-alone unit, or as part of a larger system. If more than one unit is being used in the system, they can be linked together. When linking them together they operate as one primary unit, with other units operating as subordinates.

In the scenario of parallel units being used, the primary is installed exactly like any single unit would be installed – using the CT clamp to measure the operation of the property. All other units are then changed on the monitoring to be subordinate units, which means they take commands as to whether to charge or discharge. Using multiple units in parallel provides better communication between them resulting in a more balanced performance.

LXP12000 Hybrid Overview

Up To 20 Years Warranty

All our LuxPower Controllers come with a comprehensive 12-year manufacturer’s warranty, ensuring that you can rely on the performance and longevity of our products with absolute confidence. At an extra charge, this can be upgraded to 20 years warranty, giving you peace of mind when it comes to your investment.

Advanced EPS

The LuxPower LXP 12000 Hybrid Controller has an enhanced EPS feature that will switch over in 0.01s in the event of a power cut. This means that the systems can also be used with Grid Share incentive programmes.

250Amps Charge & Discharge Rates

Determining how much power you can put in and take out of your batteries, the LXP 12000 Hybrid have a 240A charge and discharge rate. When combined with a unit from the Hanchu range, which are batteries that are 50V, the max discharge rate is 12000w.

In order to achieve this though, a combiner box is required. Whenever using the combiner box please check you have all the relevant instructions and wiring schematics to correctly set up this rate of charge and discharge. For full information on this, contact our customer support team who can advise on this.

Advanced Weather Compensation Programming

The LuxPower range now comes with advanced weather compensation, which makes weather predictions. This feature allows users to program night-time grid charging of the controller and batteries based on the following days local weather forecast.

The feature will allow users to operate the battery at its optimum level and increase efficiencies, and as a result save more money.

Advanced Monitoring

The LuxPower  range comes with Free Advanced Monitoring, giving the user a full insight into the system. The platform is an overview of the system performance providing daily, weekly and monthly information.

This allows you to simply change settings such as charge rates and make use of the excellent free Lux programs. The Luxpower monitoring can be viewed via a web portal on PCs and laptops, or on a mobile app for smartphones and tablets.

Grid Charge & Octopus Agile/Outgoing/Go Compatible

New energy providers will now provide extremely cheap off-peak renewable electricity. The LuxPower LXP 12000 Hybrid can be programmed to take advantage of these cheap off-peak tariffs to charge the batteries to use the energy when the tariffs are high.

“We just have a 12 panel system which we have had for 8 years. We have had a Luxpower battery storage system fitted and now we save all the daytime extra power which keeps us going in the evenings. The install was done by lunchtime, and we have the monitoring to check the system, although the screen on the unit is very clear .”

John d’Angibau, Colchester

Our new solar system was installed using a Luxpower inverter and 3 Greenlinx batteries. The installers set it all up in our loft space and the batteries are mounted underneath the Luxpower unit. It was really very simple, we were given a password to access the monitoring, and we can see everyday how the power is going into the batteries. At the moment we have plenty of extra power in the daytime – we had a 16 panels system installed – and this power is keeping us going every evening.”
